Storyline
Students analyze wave patterns to determine where the Crooked Snakes and Patient-19 to protect life-saving plants.
In a high-stakes race against time, the Infini-D crew, led by Agent Cobalt, is dispatched to Dejerria with the crucial task of protecting the galaxy's sole source of the Persepha plant, a critical ingredient in life-saving medicines. However, with the malicious duo of The Crooked Snakes and Patient-19 threatening to hijack the bio-farm, the mission becomes even more perilous. As the crew navigates the challenges of space travel, they must use their knowledge of wave patterns by deciphering wave patterns, amplitude, and wavelength to intercept and interpret the villains' communications. Using models, the crew pinpoints the enemies' hideout. Through teamwork, wit, and application of academic standards, students not only ensures the safety of the Persepha plant but also safeguard the health of millions across the galaxy.
Phenomenon
Waves have patterns that can be measured.

Crosscutting Concepts
Patterns
Students study patterns between 5 different sound wave models and determine similarities and differences between them.
Disciplinary Core Ideas
PS4.A: Wave Properties
Waves, which are regular patterns of motion, can be made in water by disturbing the surface. When waves move across the surface of deep water, the water goes up and down in place; there is no net motion in the direction of the wave except when the water meets a beach. (4-PS4-1)
Waves of the same type can differ in amplitude (height of the wave) and wavelength (spacing between wave peaks). (4-PS4-1)
